Greetings!

We hope you are enjoying your summer!

As the song goes there is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.... For us at The Training Clinic, it's a time for new beginnings.  We are launching this, our first newsletter, as we prepare to re-launch our public Train-the-Trainer workshops this Fall.

For over 30 years, we've been providing you with teachable moments during our train-the-trainer workshops.  We've called these "Training Clinic Moments." So it seemed fitting that we honor this tradition in the title of our newsletter.

Look to our newsletters to provide you with information you can use to grow and develop as training professionals, including tips and tricks of the trade, dealing with common training challenges, and personal perspectives on training.  How can we support you in your training efforts through our newsletter?

As a subscriber, you will have opportunity to preview upcoming specials before they are posted to our web site. If you are not yet a subscriber and would like to join our mailing list, please select the "join our mailing list" button on the bottom.

So, grab your favorite summertime beverage, enjoy our newsletter, pass it along to friends and colleagues and let us know how we can continue to meet your needs.

Cheers!

Facilitate Training with IMPACT!

Your role as a trainer is to deliver content that has been specifically designed to meet the needs of your learner. Your responsibility is to do so in a manner that increases retention, reduces boredom and enables the learner to quickly incorporate the new knowledge and skills back on the job.

How can you accomplish such a feat?

In her book, "The Art of Great Training Delivery" Jean Barbazette, founder of The Training Clinic, provides some sound strategies, tools and tactics through her experiential model, the Five Steps of Adult Learning.

Incorporating the Five Steps of Adult Learning

An experiential learning model helps to engage the learner at all levels and can be applied using a variety of activities including simulations, demonstrations with skill practice, role-plays, case studies and participative lectures. An added benefit of using this model is that everyone gets something out of an activity - no matter how diverse the audience because the learners are actively involved. This process allows the trainer to meet the learners where they are and take them where they need to be...Click HERE to read more...
