PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL AND GOAL SETTING

This workshop is appropriate for those who assess and evaluate the performance of subordinates and peers.  The workshop addresses planning and preparation for the appraisal, how to complete the form specific to your organization and how to conduct an appraisal discussion as a developmental experience for the subordinate.

Unit 5: How to Write the Development Plan

EXPECTED OUTCOMES

By the end of the workshop, the manager will:

1.  Identify how the performance appraisal process fits into the employee development process.
2. Complete all parts of the performance appraisal form correctly.
3. Conduct an appraisal discussion with a positive tone that is viewed by the employee as a developmental experience.
4. Create a development plan with an employee that is specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-bound.
