IS THIS WORKSHOP RIGHT FOR YOU?

The Training Clinic offers a series of one-day and two-day workshops that are narrowly targeted at a specific audience. Each workshop explores a topic in depth at either a beginning, intermediate or advanced level. The following descriptions may be helpful in deciding which Training Clinic workshop is right for your organization. Content from one or more workshops can be combined by The Training Clinic, for no additional cost to you, to create a "custom" workshop to meet your specific needs.

Workshops for Instructors:

Survival Skills For the New Trainer  is an entry level one-day workshop. It is intended to help the new instructor identify useful skills to transition to a new training responsibility. Many part-time as well as full-time instructors attend this workshop. If you have been conducting training for more than one year, you may have developed these skills through experience and would benefit from a more challenging workshop.

How To Present Training With Impact! is a two-day workshop that is beneficial to almost any trainer. Instructors with a year or more experience will get more out of this workshop than those with limited experience. Limited experience is not a barrier to success in this workshop. Frequent participants include those who have been training without the benefit of a formal train-the-trainer workshop.

Facilitation Skills for Trainers and Team Leaders  is a fast-paced one-day workshop. For trainers, it is suggested that you attend either or both of the workshops above before attending this program. For trainers with minimal experience, a resource section is offered on basic skills as a part of the handout material for this workshop. Team Leaders who attend this training to develop skills as part of a quality improvement process will benefit from attending this session. Application of facilitation skills is suggested for both the classroom and team meetings.

Make Adult Learning Come To Life! is a one-day session for any trainer to sharpen and refine training skills. Identify how to use adult learning techniques and discovery learning. Use simulations, exercises, inventories, tests, games and puzzles effectively. Inventory your skills against 100 instructor benchmarks.

e-Training Facilitator is a one-day workshop designed for the trainer who will facilitate training programs in an e-learning setting.

Workshops for Designers:

How to Design Effective Training Programs is a two-day workshop for those who have little or no experience in designing training programs. If you have been designing training programs and have never attended a workshop on this process, you'll find some steps you've been missing to make this process easier. A new methodology resource guide is given to each participant to use as a template to design future training programs.

How to Write Terrific Training Materials  is for anyone who develops courses and media. Organize and plan materials development for learner handouts, activities and tests, lesson plans and audiovisual scripts. Hints for Distance Learning are included.

Make Training Stick: A Systematic Approach to the Transfer of Learning is a unique one-day workshop for trainers, training managers, course designers and internal performance consultants who want to improve learning retention and workplace performance. Those new to training would benefit from attending other workshops prior to attending this more advanced workshop.

Make New Employee Orientation a Success is a one-day workshop for those who need to design and present a new employee orientation program. Orientation is not training and the differences in these two processes are identified for the participants. This workshop is based on over 9 years of unique research into orientation best practices by major US companies. Human Resources and Training personnel can benefit from this workshop to redesign an existing program or create one from "scratch".

Workshops for Training Administrators, Coordinators and Managers:

Today's Effective Training Coordinator is a one-day workshop for those who handle the administrative side of training. This person could be a support person, staff person or manager of a department of one. The basics of developing a training plan and coordinating the details of training events are covered in the workshop.

How To Manage The Training Function is a two-day workshop on how to manage a training function, budgets and a professional training staff.
