TRAINING DELIVERY WORKSHOPS

 

Facilitation Skills For Trainers and Team Leaders
(one day)

Practice effective facilitation and group process skills.  Listening, paraphrasing, asking basic and follow-up questions, how to form groups and achieve the learning objective efficiently.  Applications for this workshop are in TQM facilitation and problem solving sessions.

 

How To Present Training With Impact!
(two days)

Essentials of adult learning and how to make training "come to life" are covered.  Other topics include climate setting, selective lecturing, how to increase participation, improve discussions, role plays and demonstrations.  During this highly interactive workshop you teach a 5-minute lesson to a partner and get feedback on your natural teaching style.  Special techniques to relate to mature learners are developed along with appropriate audiovisual support.

How to Present Training With Impact!
(three days, with video)

A third day is added to the two-day version of this workshop to give the participants extra practice and an opportunity to give a videotaped presentation that applies the techniques taught in the first two days.  Feedback and redesign are included on the third day.

 

How To Present Technical Training
(two days, one day)

Practice the basics of getting learners involved, making training less boring, using documentation in training and using other methods appropriately.  How to design and evaluate this type of training are covered in the two-day version of this workshop.

 

How To Design and Present Technical Training
(three days)

Elements of "How to Design Effective Training Programs" and "How to Present Training With Impact!" are combined for the technical environment.

 

e-Training Facilitator Workshop
 (one day)

This workshop is designed for the trainer who will facilitate training programs in an e-learning setting.

Effective On-The-Job Training
(one day)

Practice techniques to use a four-step method of instruction: prepare, present, tryout and follow-up. Special emphasis is given to correcting mistakes and coaching one-on-one as well as safety in "live" situations.  Evaluate the effectiveness of your on-the-job training efforts.

Survival Skills For the New Trainer
(one day)

Those new to training will be helped to identify transition skills, how to build confidence, handle difficult learners and develop listening and questioning techniques to feel more comfortable in the classroom.

Effective Presentations
(one and two days, video)

Make New Employee Orientation A Success
(one day)

How to design and develop a successful orientation program that incorporates 12 elements of proven, successful orientations.  This workshop is based on national and international research and covers setting objectives, selecting orientation methods, how to gain supervisory involvement and satisfy safety requirements through a well-designed program.

How To Train People To Use Computers

This is a train-the-trainer workshop for those who must train others to use software (either mainframe or PC).  Practice the basics of getting learners involved, making training less boring, using documentation in training and using other methods appropriately.  How to design and evaluate this type of training are covered in the two-day version of this workshop.

 

 

 

 

TRAINING DESIGN WORKSHOPS

 

How To Assess Training Needs
(one day)

Practice using 9 types of needs assessment to gather information about the training needs in an organization and learn how to translate those needs into training programs.  Special emphasis on developing questionnaire and surveys is given.

How to Design Effective Training Programs
(two days)

Several types of needs analysis are developed to help uncover real training needs in the organization.  Needs are translated to learning objectives.  How to select training methods, write case studies and evaluate training are strong components of this workshop that follows a traditional Instructional Systems Design (ISD) model.

How To Write Terrific Training Materials
(one day)

Improve your skill in developing training materials which include writing training proposals and plans, lesson plans, learner handout materials and tests.  Also learn how to develop activities, exercises and audiovisual scripts.  Special emphasis is placed on readability and writing differently for different purposes.

How To Write Tests And Effective Training Material
(one day)

Level II, evaluation of learning is the emphasis for this workshop and includes test construction for knowledge and skill.  Learn to match tests to learning objectives as well as how to write reliable and valid tests.

 

Make Training Stick:
A Systematic Approach to the Transfer of Learning

(one day)

How to use a 9-part strategy to transfer learning to the organization by increasing an instructor's skills, involving managers and trainees actively before, during and after the training event are addressed.  Techniques to develop a manager's feedback and coaching skills are included with a post-training performance analysis tool.

How To Design and Present Technical Training
(three days)

Elements of "How to Design Effective Training Programs" and "How to Present Training With Impact!" are combined for the technical environment.

(one day)

Practice using games, simulations, puzzles and techniques to improve learning and retention in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.  Games can be effective if used appropriately.  Learn how to adapt and modify an existing game or create a new game for your own situation.

Today's Effective Training Coordinator
(one day)

A special workshop for those who coordinate and administer training covers how to develop a training plan, how to be active, not reactive, as well as maintaining management support for training. How to hire consultants, set up a resource center, market and administer a registration system and schedule training (along with facilities and materials coordination) are emphasized.

 

Internal Consulting Skills for Trainers
(one day)

Identify the appropriate role for the internal consultant, build and maintain management's commitment to training, diagnose training problems correctly and use techniques to work with line managers effectively.

Quality Control of Training
(one day)
